URS, an AECOM Company is immediately hiring Motor Vehicle Mechanics w/ CDL at Ft. Polk, LA.
High school diploma/GED and must have at least 5 years actual and recent experience in repairing and maintaining heavy equipment to include 3 years actual and recent related experience in the field consistent with the requirements set forth in the contract. CDL is a requirement for this position.
Knowledge and proper use of special tools / equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.
This position requires a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Must have a valid driver's license.

Job Description:
Assist one or more workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools, cleaning working area, machine, and equipment; assisting mechanics by holding materials or tools, and performing other unskilled tasks as directed by the mechanics. Supervised by Lead Mechanic.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Assist one or more workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools, cleaning working area, machine and equipment, assisting mechanics by holding materials or tools, and performing other unskilled tasks as directed by the mechanics.
2. Perform a variety of tasks such as washing, lubricating, loading, unloading, and storing automotive parts and supplies.
3. Maintain and cleans working areas
4. May be allowed to perform specialized machine operations, or parts of a trade that are also performed by workers.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Works inside and outside. Frequently exposed to drafts, changing temperatures, noise, heat, dust, fumes, oil and grease. Frequently exposed to the possibility of receiving cuts, burns, bruises and sprains. Required to push, pull, turn and position parts and tools. Lifts and moves heavier items with the assistance of other workers and with lifting devices such as jacks, hoists and cranes. Performs strenuous work while standing or sitting. Frequently carries items weighing in excess of 44 pounds. Constant lifting, bending, stooping, carrying and reaching while standing and/or sitting. Will be exposed to various weather conditions.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
