Software Engineer 3 (Tivoli) needed for a contract to hire opportunity with Yoh's client located in Suitland, MD.
The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:
- IBM Tivoli Suites
- COTS Software
- Software Engineering
What You'll Be Doing:
- Support system operators by maintaining COTS SW applications to ensure configuration and performance as designed
- Install, integrate, configure, license, patch, and maintain COTS Software applications supporting data processing systems at multiple sites.
- Systems monitoring COTS software applications automated system discovery.
- Configure, integrate, and test changes to OTS software applications.
- Support of audit requests for information
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor's Degree and seven years experience
- Experience with IBM's Tivoli tool suite
- Ability to resolve complex problems between OTS software applications
- Ability to interface with customer while working at the customer's facility
- Patch and version upgrade evaluation, planning and installation
- Adherence to policies, procedures and controls especially in regard to outage and change management, licensing, and information protection
- Experience with Unix and/or Linux
- Strong interpersonal and excellent teamwork skills.
- A self-motivated, task-oriented, and creative individual with the ability to solve problems.
- Ability to present and explain technical information to diverse types of audiences (management, users, vendors, and technical staff) in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.
