Home Instead Senior Care® Training Coordinator - Part-Time
KangaRew, Inc. – dba Home Instead Senior Care #451
 
Objective: The Training Coordinator is responsible for the execution and organization of all training programs for CAREGiversSM. This position will also require the support of shared services.  The Alternate Administrator is responsible for implementing and supervising the administrative policies of the Agency and assist in administratively supervising the provision of all service. They continuously evaluate the plan through a series of ongoing communications.
 
Primary Responsibilities:                                                                             
  • Reflect the core values of KangaRew, Inc., dba Home Instead Senior Care #451.
  • Assist RRC and the Administrator with the counsel of CAREGivers on quality concerns, support training programs for CG’s to meet State regulations and Home Instead Senior Care standards
  • Back up the Administrator in the audit of client files for business and in accordance with DAD’s requirements
  • Serve as a liaison to the Emergency Preparedness team, A team overseeing compliance with the Agency’s policies and procedures related to Emergency Preparedness and Response Planning per Federal and State Regulations
  • Answer incoming calls in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner
  • Develop, monitor and execute a monthly training calendar
  • Enter and maintain accurate client and CAREGiver records in the operating system
  • Maintain regular attendance at the office to execute job responsibilities
  • Demonstrate open and effective communication with owner, colleagues and CAREGivers
  • Schedule and conduct CAREGiver Orientation
  • Evaluate and update all orientation and training materials as needed
  • Develop in-service topics to meet CAREGiver and office needs
  • Schedule and conduct CAREGiver Training, In-services and Alzheimer’s Training
  • Conduct offsite training sessions to engage and educate the community
  • Ensure Home Instead Senior Care standards are met and upheld
 
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and comply with federal and local labor and safety laws
  • Field new client inquires over the phone in a knowledgeable manner, enter information into the operating system and print out care consultation form
  • Develop, plan and facilitate quarterly CAREGiver Meetings
  • Perform any and all other functions and responsibilities deemed necessary
  • Conduct introductions, care consultations and quality assurance visits as deemed necessary
 
Critical Numbers
  • CAREGiver training conducted in accordance with franchisor and state requirements 100% of the time
  • Achieve and maintain 50% completion rate of Alzheimer’s training by CAREGivers working for the franchise office
  • Conduct 1 offsite community training sessions per quarter
 
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • High school graduation or the equivalent
  • Two years of related business experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position with be responsible for overseeing all of the Job functions performed by the franchise office’s CAREGivers in relation to training provided them. 
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must have an understanding of and uphold the policies and procedures established by KangaRew, Inc., d.b.a. Home Instead Senior Care #451 (an independently owned and operated Home Instead Senior Care franchise).
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively
  • Must have the ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information and meet deadlines
  • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
  • Maintain 12 hours of continuing education per year in matters relating to management of the Agency. Comply with Training in Administrative Agencies: TAC 97.259 and/or TAC97.260.
  • Must demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness consistent with office standards, practices, policies and procedures
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the senior care industry
  • Must have the ability to organize and prioritize daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly work
  • Must be able to establish good working relationships with the franchise owner, office colleagues, CAREGivers and the community
  • Must have the ability to sit at a desk and listen effectively for long periods of time on the telephone
  • Must present a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must have the ability to operate office equipment
  • Must be patient and congenial on the telephone 
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in ClearCare, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Must have the availability to work evenings or weekends as required
  • Must have the ability to perform duties in a professional office setting
  • Must have the ability to work as a part of a team
  • The ability to read, write and comprehend English
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings or weekends as required
