The Arrabelle at Vail Square is looking for our next Director of Rooms to continue to deliver upon the opulent, yet inviting, combination of luxury and old-world charm we're known for. The right candidate will be experienced in providing unparalled guest experiences and ready to ambitiously take the next step in their career in luxury hotel leadership. 

The Director of Rooms will coordinate the day to day rooms operations to maximize profitability while ensuring the utmost in guest service and satisfaction. This position will be responsible for ensuring  the hotel is adhering to RockResorts brand standards,  monitoring budgets and financial performance, supporting Sales and Marketing efforts and conducting frequent hotel inspections. The Director of Rooms will oversee the Front Desk, Night Audit, Resort Services, Concierge, Bell/Valet, Housekeeping, Laundry, Public Areas, Home Owner Liaison, ice rink and any off site rentals.  This position will report directly to the General Manager.   

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily oversight and support to operational managers and employees within the Rooms and Ice Rink departments.
  • Analyze systems and operational procedures and evaluate and implement new systems as required
  • Resonsible for daily monitoring and actionables associated with room inventory, room rates, and availability.  This requires constant communication and accountability efforts with Revenue Managmenet, Reservations, Inventory Specialists and all others associated with setting rates and controlling inventory.
  • Plan, develop, implement, maintain and evaluate a level of guest service required from a 5 star/5 diamond property through observation and available reporting.  
  • Maintain product and service quality standards by conducting periodic inspections, investigating complaints/feedback and initiating corrective action
  • Leads frequent and periodic meetings with area leadership and staff to ensure all strategy, standards and expectations are met.
  • Resonsible for maintenance of annual capital planning and execution with Rooms Division.
  • Resolution of scenarios involving guest and owner dissatisfaction through appeasement and/or difficult converastions. 
  • Serve as a contributing member of Executive Committee, ROCs revenue management team and all operational meetings as needed.
  • Review all schedules, purchase requests, purchase orders, and coordinates efforts to follow budget, forecast, and staffing requirements.
  • Provide monthly profit and loss analysis along with adjustments to appropriate operating forecast with achievement of budget as ultimate goal.
  • Maintain all required RockResorts brand cleanliness and service standards throughout areas of responsibility.
  • Represent Front Office and Housekeeping in the pre- and post- convention meetings and communicates needs to proper departments.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of luxury resort/hotel experience with 3+ years in Rooms Division
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in luxury guest service environment. 
  • CMCA accredidations - preferred
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Windows XP or newer - required  
  • Previous experience using Property Management software
  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish - preferred 
  • Experience using LMS or similar Lodging Management software - highly preferred
