Job Overview:

The Omni Associate Merchant Forecasting supports the Omni Director Merchant Forecasting in the development of In-Season Forecasts that align to the Merchandise strategy in order to maximize sales and profit

Essential Functions:

Develop and present Rolling Operational Forecast (ROF) for all financial metrics
Create Pre-Season daily sales plan based on Marketing Calendar, Holiday shifts, Markdown and Promotional cadence and revise daily sales plan in-season based on trend
Develop analysis to substantiate all ROF components, re-projecting sales, markdowns and receipts
Forecast vendor and departmental demand by channel based on historical performance, current trends, market place, vendor offering and strategic initiatives. Communicate changes and deviation from plans with recommended actions
Identify in-season receipt needs based on new forecast and communicate changes to the open to buy purchase needs, moves and/or cancellation
Develop and project Vendor Margin Template (VMT) in collaboration with key business partners
Recommend changes to in-season operating plans through the official monthly ROF process for all financial metrics.
Manage and communicate risks or opportunities to sales, stock and margin with recommended actions
Support Omni Director Merchant Forecasting as requested in total area of responsibility
Develop self - attend ongoing professional development and training. Stay current on management best practices
Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree (Business, Finance, Marketing or equivalent)
2+ years retail buying or planning experience

Communication Skills:

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to influence

Mathematical Skills:

Readily grasps numerical concepts and interprets financial information accurately; ability to utilize retail math skills to analyze and drive business

Reasoning Ability:

Strong analytical and excel skills
Result-oriented and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency

Other Skills:

Ability to develop, plan, present and execute strategies
Ability and desire to learn various Macy's Department Store systems and division-specific programs that support Internet operations
