POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides support to Store and Team Leadership with direct responsibilities around human resource functions and the support of the store associates. The role includes oversight of many core people functions at the store level: (employee relations, day force & scheduling payroll, benefits, workers compensation, unemployment, federal & state labor issues, federal & state safety compliance, recruiting, and training and development).
The ideal candidate is self-directed, has the ability to handle a heavy, diverse workload with very good problem-solving skills while exhibiting a positive attitude, has demonstrated the ability to proactively respond to changes, identify and creatively respond to needs of the business and works well with others. Professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, initiative, emotional intelligence, and effective written/verbal communication are necessary to successfully execute this intermediate position.
Your Store Manager may revise responsibilities as needed to maintain store operations. THE JOB:
STORE SUPERVISION:
• Develop collaborative communication avenues to ensure management team is in sync with each other and team members.
STORE CASH ADMINISTRATION:
• Ensure the standards of operation and procedures are adhered, to include, but not limited to: 1) store safe standards are maintained, 2) deposit records audited, and 3) cashiers trained on opening and closing out their shift register tills.
PAYROLL/PERSONNEL
• Oversee all duties associated with payroll to include, new hire, transfer & termination paperwork with accuracy and ensure all deadlines are met. BENEFITS
• Support ongoing enrollments and oversee annual enrollment with HRG/D and provider
• First line of support for team benefit questions, including researching and timely follow-up.
TRAINING
• Responsible for all New Hire Day 1 sessions, on-going team training needs.
• Partner and initiate training materials with Support and Store Manager.
ENGAGEMENT (will partner with Support Benefits specialist and HRG/D)
• Owns the total team calendar of events
• Service Awards/Birthdays
• Green Moments/on the spot recognition
• Team spirit
• Employee of the Month
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
• Knowledge & experience to assist the Store Manager in resolving employee issues.
• Conduct any confidential team member investigations, disciplinary actions or separations.
• Maintain a direct line of communication with the (HRG/D) to ensure all store issues are addressed timely and accurately, while mitigating store risks and liability.
UNEMPLOYMENT
• Report separations and respond to claims in a timely manner with HR/Unemployment vendor.
• Review separation paperwork for accuracy and completion
HR. COMPLIANCE ISSUES
• Understand & adhere to all federal, state, and company Leaves of Absence with HIPAA compliance, FMLA and ADA Interactive Processes (STD/LTD).
• Ensure all legal and employment postings are visible and current.
RECRUITING
• Proactively partner with Talent Acquisition Team to manage resumes and postings for new and open positions.
• Maintain Applicant Tracking System for store staffing needs (hourly).
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY/WC (TBD)
• Partner with HRD and Safety Leads (TBD) to ensure safety compliance throughout the store.
• Oversee return-to-work process for Team Members.
• Ensure accident investigations reports and necessary forms are completed accurately and timely.
• Partner with HRD and Safety Regional to ensure that all safety programs meet expectations.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in human resources.
• Ability to interact positively with all levels of diverse personnel showing a high degree of approachability
• High level of initiative with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• High level aptitudes at multi-tasking, time management & follow through with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience in conflict resolution.
• Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
• Flexible attitude and acceptance of change.
• Comfort in speaking in front of large groups.
• Well organized, detail-oriented, ability to create efficiencies.
• Excellent computer/system skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HRMS.
• Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and listening.
• Willingness to work according to all scheduling needs of the store.
• Ability to commute between stores as needed.
• Ability to travel as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Standing and walking for extended period of time (hot and cold temperatures).
• Bending, stooping, lifting and climbing.
