Job – Production Supervisor 2nd Shift
Location – Tremont, Pa
Pay - $50,000 to $65,000 depending on talent and skills.
Shift – 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

Supervises and coordinates activities of production and lab employees by performing the following duties. The Production Supervisor drives a culture of safety through leading by example, setting expectations and standards, and reinforcing positive behavior during the course of daily business. Insures compliance of all Company policies and procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directs the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by eliminating hazards, training employees, and promoting safety awareness throughout the facility. Overseeing all incident reporting and root cause analysis.

• Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of equipment.

• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety and environmental regulatory requirements.

• Interprets specifications and job orders to workers and assigns duties.

• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, departments, or work crew.

• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

• Maintains time and production records.

• Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.

• Directly supervises hourly employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Assists EH& S in implementing the facility’s EH & S program and managing the waste produced at the facility as described under “Qualifications”.

• Other duties may be assigned.


TRAINING

• If an employee is designated to handle hazardous waste he/she must receive training before handling any hazardous waste duties. Training will be provided in all applicable health, safety and environmental regulations. Training will be provided yearly thereafter. Employees shall be supervised by a currently trained hazardous waste representative at all times when performing hazardous waste duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

In addition to the production duties the Plant Supervisor is responsible for making sure that the facility is a safe work environment for all employees, attends all required EH & S training, ensures that all employees follow the facility’s EH & S guidelines and assists EH & S in implementing the EH & S Program of the facility.

Must understand the hazardous waste regulations as they pertain to his/her areas of responsibility, specifically the requirements for understanding the types of waste produced at the facility, labeling of hazardous waste containers, who is responsible for labeling the hazardous waste containers in the facility, correct procedures for transferring the waste to the central accumulation area, condition of containers, adequate aisle spacing and procedures to be followed in case of emergency. Will work under the direction of the trained hazardous waste internal or external representative during handling or shipment of hazardous waste.




EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Ability to obtain a forklift driver’s license.
