Electrical Engineer Position

This client has two positions open for Electrical Engineers. One is for a 2-5 year EIT doing design for healthcare, educational and goverment projects. The second position is for a PE with some project management experience. Both positions are direct placement positions. Below is the Job Description for the Project Manager opportunitiy but feel free to apply to either position.

  • Solid project management and direct design experience with building and commercial distribution systems
  • Strong experience in design of emergency/UPS systems, data centers and laboratories desired
  • Candidate should have specific in-the-industry experience in design of building electrical systems (minimum of 5 years Proj Mgr experience)
  • Desire to work with challenging projects and clients
  • BSEE or similar degree required
  • PE license or likely to achieve in near future
  • Ability to profitably manage multiple projects, including fast track designs
  • Strong people skills
  • Ability to provide accurate and detailed cost estimates
  • LEED Accredited, desired but not required
  • Knowledgeable with power systems design, lighting, special systems (ie. Fire alarm, CCTV, security)
  • Energetic, outgoing and desire to learn from experienced professionals
  • Looking to contribute to challenging designs
  • Working knowledge and experience in Autocadd (Autocadd MEP or Revit experience a plus)
  • Desire to advance career with a solid and progressive firm
  • Candidate should have specific in-the-industry experience in design of building electrical systems.
  • Should be ready to provide such design work under guidance of senior engineers or project managers.
  • Some specific tasks for which experience is desired: lighting footcandle and energy code calculations/layout; fire alarm device layouts; sizing of feeders, branch circuits, panels and transformers; field investigations of existing buildings/systems; layout of building riser or 1-line diagrams.
  • Familiar with local Balto/Washington power companies' requirements and new service designs.
  • Experience with running meetings, field inspections, and similar construction phase activities
  • Must be able to provide clear communication, written reports, etc.
