Must Haves:
1. 4 year technical degree in environmental engineering, mechanical engineers with environmental studies, geology or hydrogeology
2. Strong written and verbal communication skills- must be able to communicate between PM and site contractor as well as document and write reports of findings
3. Must have field experience, particularly with sampling of soil, groundwater and air in support of environmental site investigation and remediation. They will be required to sample and document accurately for corresponding reports.
The environmental engineer is a position within the industrial client service area- you will support all private development via site investigations and remediation engineering. Essentially you are brought on to help determine the environmental implications of developing a site (what's there, how much of it, how should it be cleaned up). You will then work with the contractor to oversee the clean-up of the site as well as the closure/redevelopment of the site. You will be on site as well as engineering in the office.
Examples of the position responsibilities include:
* Perform environmental and hydrogeologic investigations on fast-paced assessment and remediation projects;
* Collect, interpret and analyze field data;
* Assess contaminant fate and transport, develop conceptual site models and evaluate risks;
* Perform environmental due diligence assessments;
* Assist senior engineers in developing recommendations for environmental strategies, remedial alternatives and remediation designs;
* Prepare technical reports and other deliverables including: design reports, investigation reports, phase 1, site assessments, conclusions, assisting with permitting via these reports, cost estimates, remediation review
