Hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for a company in North Phoenix.

Job Description:

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of Lean techniques, mixing and filling processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, and quality control standards.
  • Engage and manage vendors to improve equipment capabilities and arrange for purchase and maintenance of additional equipment, materials, or parts.
  • Work with maintenance, management and operations staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, equipment maintenance and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Apply statistical methods to evaluate current manufacturing capabilities and potential future improvements.
  • Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to improve safety, reliability and throughput.
  • Perform engineering assignments related to mixing equipment, product delivery systems and filling equipment.
  • Work with maintenance team to develop and implement preventative maintenance processes.
  • Collect and analyze relevant information on machinery and equipment to maximize uptime and optimize preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Works with engineering and maintenance team to develop site capital budget, specify and purchase new equipment, and manage new equipment delivery, installation, and start-up process.

Work Environment:

High volume paint manufacturing plant.. Fast paced production environment. Very team oriented atmosphere. Will be working with all departments in manufacturing. Very hands on.

Qualifications:

*Must have a BS Engineering.

Minimum 4 years experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated use of Lean principles. Preferred background will include extensive experience with implementing lean processes in the areas of: mixing / dispersion, bulk liquid transfers, and / or automated filling equipment. Expertise in process piping, SCADA systems and PLCs are also desirable.
