The Manager of Transportation Operations supports the Vice President of Store Transportation Services with all aspects of retail store delivery operations. This role will act as the primary point of contact for store logistics and serve as the liaison among Distribution Services, Purchasing and Store Operations. The individual will manage delivery of merchandise for stores from all HomeGoods distribution centers. This associate will support TJX logistical strategies and deliver merchandise to stores in a cost-efficient manner while meeting or exceeding service standards. Responsibilities also include developing procedures that control our assets, improve work methods and support financial information to and from Home Office.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure store service goals are met or exceeded
  • Monitors, reports and where necessary takes actions on carrier performance and store delivery schedules
  • Collaborates with the Distribution Centers and Store Operations in supporting and integrating new store openings into existing delivery schedules
  • Performs cost analysis, strategic planning and budgeting
  • Oversees carrier analysis, selection, and negotiations
  • Communicates with internal and external teams
  • Interfaces with Distribution Centers on deliveries, packaging, damages, store openings and remodels
  • Maintains consistent communication with store management and visits stores to receive feedback on schedules, drivers, timing of event merchandise and quality of deliveries
  • Ensure all safety standards are maintained with over the road carriers


Experience Required:
  • A minimum of 6 years experience in Logistics
  • Experience leading and managing teams
  • Knowledge of motor carrier industry
  • Understanding of distribution center operations
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of transportation management systems and software (Manugistics, RoutePro)
  • Ability to work cross functionally to deliver results
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related
