Novato Community Hospital is a 47-bed acute-care hospital located approximately 30 miles north of San Francisco. It is a part of the Sutter Health network of doctors, not-for-profit hospitals and other health care service providers sharing resources and expertise to advance health care quality and access in the more than 100 Northern California cities and communities.
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the CNA performs various patient care activities and other unit tasks as delegated. Assists the RN /LVN by providing patient care including caring for the needs and comfort of patients, collection of routine data regarding patients' condition, maintenance of a clean and safe environment. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of work, quantity of work, teamwork/interpersonal skills, and risk management/quality improvement/safety, commitment of professional development. Education:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred
License/Registration/Certification:
Certified Nursing Assistant license with State of California Department of Health Services required, or student nurse who has completed one year of an accredited nursing program Current BLS-HP certification required
Experience:
Minimum of six months to one year experience as CNA in an acute facility preferred. Knowledge:
Medical Terminology Special Skills/Equipment:
Works in a hospital setting with patients who are experiencing a wide range of medical or surgical conditions which required skilled or rehabilitative care. Required to work rotating schedules including weekends. Ability to write legibly, spell correctly and perform basic mathematics.
