About this job
Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs Computerized axial Tomography procedures at a technical level requiring no constant supervision of technical detail. Transfers and properly positions patients for examinations. Verifies patient identification prior to procedures. Processes films assuring proper identification. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment. Assumes responsibility for designated area. Accepts on-call assignments. Provides age specific directed care for the neonatal, adolescent, adult and geriatric individuals, i.e., those tasks necessary for physical care and comfort, supportive tasks and teaching according to standards of care and cultural diversity. Participates in Quality Assurance and follows infection control policies. Assures confidentiality of patient, departmental, and hospital affairs. Adheres to all Hospital and Department policies and procedures
Education: Graduate of an accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology
Experience: Minimum of one year experience as a Radiologic Technologist in Diagnostic Radiology. Previous CT experience preferred.
Skills: Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, BCLS certified. Advanced certification in Computed Tomography required.
Professionalism: Posses excellent qualities in communication, adaptability, problem solving, attitude, and organization.
Typical Physical Demands: Full range of motion of upper and lower extremities. Moving and/or lifting patients and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Pushing equipment > 100 pounds. Dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges. Standing and/or walking for extensive periods of time. Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Potential for exposure to communicable disease and/or body fluid which require the use of body substance isolation precautions
