Job Summary:
Provide patient care in the office setting, meeting the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care.
Hours:
Monday - Thursday 5p - 8p and Saturday 8a-12p
Job Responsibilities:
Provide patient care in the office setting.
Provide care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care.
Provide care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/pr Physician.
Maintain regulatory requirements, nursing and office policies, procedures and standards.
Ability to assist nursing and medical staff with routine examinations and patient treatments. This includes neonate, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Ability to position and prep patients for office procedures.
Communicate appropriately and clearly to co-workers, physicians and office manager.
Maintain infection control standards for exam/procedure rooms; cleans, disinfects, changes linen, etc.
Maintain office instruments; knowledgeable of sterilization techniques and biological indicators for sterilization.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program required.
One year medical office experience required.
Completion of venipuncture class preferred.
Current BCLS certification required within six months of hire.
