Respiratory Therapist/ED Tech (RRT) - PRN Nights
Forney ED
The Respiratory Therapist/ED Tech (RRT) assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the care given to patients at LPMC requiring respiratory therapy services.
Respiratory Therapist/ED Tech (RRT) Responsibilities:
Performs and documents basic assessment.
Identifies deviations from the norm based on best practice standards. Reassesses, identifies, and prioritizes problems in accordance with the assessment.
Evaluates and modifies care based on subjective and objective patient responses.
Evaluates and modifies standards of care based on achieved patient outcomes and accepted protocol driven therapies.
Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the care given to patients requiring respiratory therapy services.
Performs room turnovers in the Emergency Department.
Involves patient transportation to and from the department and the transportation of beds and stretchers without patients.
ED Tech is responsible for stocking of supplies.
Performs a variety of routine patient care procedures, treatments and care activities for patients according to hospital policy and procedures. phlebotomy, Assists with discharges and transfers of patients.
Treatments performed may include simple dressing changes, wound care, enemas, suture/staple removal, vital signs, splints, crutch ambulation training/instruction, EKGs, assist with CPR, urinary catheter insertion and care, ice and elevation of wounds, placement on or removal from bedpan, providing food to/or feeding of patients, answer phones, other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education : Successful Completion of an accredited Respiratory Preferred: Associate degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy
Experience: 2 to 5 years of job-related experience preferred.
Professional Requirement : Minimum CRT required. RRT preferred. TDH licensure required.
Certifications : ACLS, BLS required. Must get PALS and NRP within 6 months of employment
