DESCRIPTION
This is work interviewing and/or determining eligibility of persons applying for Health Department services and social services programs. Performs work to support operations of clinic reception office which may include, cashier, client intake, eligibility determination, and insurance verification, scheduling appointments, explaining various types of services, insurance billing, and fee collections. Must have strong customer services skills via phone and face to face with the public in office setting. This position will be required to work evenings and Saturdays in a rotation schedule to support clinic operation.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
Interviews and/or investigates applicants for public health and social services programs to gather information pertinent to their application.
Prepares and assists applicants in completion of routine intake and eligibility forms.
Explains eligibility requirements, form completion requirements, community resources for financial assistance, and/or provides program benefits.
Interprets and explains rules and regulations governing eligibility, payment methods and applicant's legal rights and obligations, and use of program benefits.
Interviews and screens clients for program eligibility and schedules appointments within established procedures.
Provides basic information to clients.
Provides support in working Shelter in case of a Natural, and or Manmade disaster.
