Providence is calling a Registered Nurse - Assistant Head Nurse - Mental Health Adult to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.

In this position, you will:

Assist physicians and nurse practitioners in delivering high quality evidence-based healthcare to patients, taking into account the patient's individual or age-related needs. Assist in planning, coordinating, providing, directing, and supervising others in the provision of nursing care of patients in the clinic. Provide leadership and direction to other staff, direct and indirect patient care, patient teaching, and significant amounts of interaction with medical residents. Have responsibilities for providing designated components of staff orientation and for staff performance evaluation. Work in an environment that is characterized by the tension and stress of the many demands of patients, providers, and other staff requiring quick and accurate decisions and actions involving people's health and lives. Work closely with the Clinic Manager/Medical Director in providing a positive work environment. Work in a health care arena that is rapidly changing and the needs of an outpatient clinic must change to meet the needs of the patients. Provide a positive leadership style that is appropriately supportive of changes that the organization deems necessary.

Required qualifications for this position include:

Current Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) licensure Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Certification 5 years of experience as an RN Additional leadership course work in topic areas of communication, management, training, adult education, and quality improvement

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) preparation 2 years of experience in an ambulatory/clinic setting
