Job Summary:

Utilizes computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues in compliance with proper safety procedures and protocols. The incumbent interprets a physician's scanning instructions, administers contrast materials, prepares and operates the CT scan equipment and positions the patient to capture the appropriate images. Works also includes: 1) maneuvering equipment and patients, 2) providing basic patient care, 3) submitting accurate and timely imaging, patient history documentation, and case charging and 4) supporting the department's initiatives related to patient and employee satisfaction.

The incumbent performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity in order to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.

The incumbent is also accountable for: 1) keeping abreast of FHS standards, protocols and procedures relating to the CT function, 2) keeping CT skills current, 3) demonstrating evidence of continuing education to include department meetings, individualized learning opportunities from radiologist and related classes.

Essential Duties:

Executes all diagnostic CT studies operating equipment to include, but not limited to General Electric CT scanners, and workstation, Macintosh G3 computer, and associated patient care equipment. Delivers patient care for all age groups of patients requiring CT services, acting as a liaison between the patient and the radiologist. Performs incidental office duties necessary to maintain a timely and complete patient record. Performs Quality Assurance audits and activities as assigned. Education/Work Experience:

Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology, (including course work in cross-sectional anatomy and/or demonstrated skill/knowledge in cross-sectional anatomy). One year of work experience as a CT Technologist preferred. Licensure/Certification:

American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) required. Current healthcare provider BLS Certification required. State of Washington Registration as a Radiologic Technologist.
