Emergency Duty is a Requirement: DOH along with many other local and state agencies has responsibilities during and after emergencies. Incumbents may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days performing emergency duties. These duties may require working in abnormal conditions and/or potentially hazardous environments.

Incumbent will be required to become compliant with Bay CHD Operating Policy No. A-005 regarding immunizations.

The custodial worker position includes work keeping buildings in clean and orderly condition. Performing cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing carpet, watching walls and glass, and removing rubbish. The incumbent of this position is responsible for the integrity and confidentiality of data sets under his/her control. The incumbent of this position will come to work and exhibit an attitude of friendliness and eager customer service towards all clients and act respectfully and courteously to fellow employees and clients.

Sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors of the mail CHD building locations, using cleaning solutions, tools and equipment. Cleans or polishes walls, ceilings, windows, sidewalks, walkways, equipment and building fixtures, using cleaning equipment, brooms, and a variety of other necessary tools. Responsible for stripping and waxing of floors. Gathers and empties trash. Dusts furniture, equipment and other fixtures. Assist with maintaining CHD janitorial supply inventory. Notifies management of needed repairs of the building and its equipment.

Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums floors of the Dental building location and/or the Village Health Center, using cleaning solutions, tools and equipment. Strips and wax floors. Cleans or polishes walls, ceilings, windows, sidewalks, walkways, equipment and building fixtures, using cleaning equipment, brooms, and a variety of other necessary tools. Gathers and empties trash. Dusts furniture, equipment and other fixtures.

Serves as backup for coverage in shipping and receiving. Assists in the delivery of daily deposits to the bank, delivery and pickup of mail at local post office, and as courier for the department.

Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
