SummitRidge Hospital specializes in the provision of mental health and chemical dependency services. Our nursing staff provides caring and professional inpatient nursing support to adults and adolescents suffering from psychiatric or addictive disorders. Additionally, the Geriatric unit provides acute care for seniors in psychiatric crisis.

Our in-patient nursing department is led by the Director of Nursing, Nurse Weekend Supervisor and includes Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Mental Health Technicians, and Nurse Technicians. SummitRidge is committed to continuity of care and does not utilize agency staff, instead we maintain a fully trained PRN pool as needed.

Due to continued growth in our programming and services, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing. Join a fast-paced team as an integral part of nursing leadership a accountable for the facilitation and provision of effective, high quality patient care with 24-hour accountability. Encompasses multiple responsibilities including operations, staff development and management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery. Participates in maintaining a system for determining patient requirements for nursing care on the basis of demonstrated patient needs, appropriate nursing intervention, and priority of care. Ensures that qualified, competent personnel are available to meet patient care needs. Aligns the mission, vision, and values of the hospital with unit activities. Coordinates and collaborates with the Director of Nursing and Management team to accomplish strategic objectives and compliance with regulatory and professional standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

. BSN graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia

. Five (5) years of recent clinical experience and a minimum of two (2) years leadership and supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting.

. PMHN preferred

Position Tasks:

1. Participates in development and implementation of standards.

2. Assumes a leadership role in patient/family education and discharge planning.

3. Collect and analyze Performance Improvement data and report findings.

4. Fosters and maintains effective relationships with unit charge nurses.

5. Assists with scheduling and coverage of units - assist with development of daily assignments.

6. Assists with monitoring and compliance with regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, CLIA, OSHA, etc.) and legal requirements (consents, 1013's, 1014's, etc).

7. Oversee our Infection Prevention program

8. Assists DON with reward/recognition of associates.

9. Assits with interviewing and hiring process as directed. Responsible for coordination of new employee orientation and department training.

10. Assists DON with staff record keeping, review and documentation of staff competencies.

11. Responsible for implementation of new policies/procedures/documentation.

12. Supports the professional growth and development of nursing staff through provision of continuing education opportunities.
