Position Summary: Provides patients with direct nursing care based on the nursing
process and individual patient assessment needs. Provide families of patients with emotional
support, information and guidance in treating the identified patient. Educate patients and families in areas of
health and illness that maintain optimum levels of physical and emotional
functioning.
Requirements: : A
minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
is required. A Bachelor's Degree in
Nursing from an accredited nursing program is preferred. All new-hire Associate Degree Registered Nurses (new
graduate and experienced) are required to start an approved BSN program
within two years of hire and complete an approved BSN program within five
years of hire. Appropriate state
licensure, specialized professional credentialing and other formal education
as needed. Registered Nurse competency
is validated by the Competency Based Orientation (CBO) plan. May provide additional information related
to competencies at higher levels. Maintains
designated yearly competencies by unit.
Maintains certifications according to specific unit requirements;
i.e., BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.
Demonstrates a strong belief and behaviors consistent with the Saint
