The Operations Manager manages all activities associated with the Warehouse, the Blending department and three packaging lines. The Ops manager will be leading a team consisting of more than 90 hourly associates, 7 salaried exempt associates and four non-exempt coordinators in a 24/5 to 24/7 operation that produces 43 million cases annually.
Optimize operational efficiencies to support the production, warehousing, and shipping of 43 million annual cases of products from the four packaging lines.
Optimize ingredient and packaging material usage to minimize scrap loss.
Ensure operational practices are followed to control inventories.
Ensure PepsiCo financial procedures are followed to ensure accurate inventory records are maintained.
Maintain product quality and sanitation standards.
Flex production plans on a shift by shift basis, managing through issues to prevent service issues and operational inefficiencies.
Develop and manage the annual budget.
Identify and coordinate operations improvements necessary to deliver the site annual operating plan (AOP). Ensure cost performance gaps are identified, action plans are developed and resources are properly allocated.
Manage the performance of direct reports through performance reviews, frequent discussions, coaching, and career development action plans.
Facilitate maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
Build and develop talent by effectively leveraging PepsiCo Career Growth and Leadership Models and the Performance Management Process: Objective Setting, Performance and Development (PDR), CDAP, People Planning, 360 Feedback, and Competency Review.
Lead the organization in the development of natural work teams.
Coach for safe behaviors and compliance with safety policies and procedures.
Provide a high degree of leadership and coaching to teams in the form of communication, issue resolution, process change, education and empowerment.
Coach teams to demonstrate continuous improvement in profitability margins, efficiencies and cost savings initiatives.
Lead and motivate the Operations team in a manner consistent with the site Vision, Mission, and Guiding Principles
Ensures compliance with Company policies, contracts and procedures.
Lead the implementation of the AM pillar
Facilitate the implementation of product and packaging innovation
Operational output measures - direct (efficiency, yield loss, product quality, inventory accuracy, transactional accuracy)
Budget - direct
Operational in process measures - direct (CIL/CL compliance, minor stop loss, SRC completion)
TPM phase 1&2 completion - shared
Produce availability and NCP loss - shared
Qualifications :
B.A./B.S. preferably in a technical discipline required
Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing preferably food/beverage experience
Must possess strong skills, knowledge and capability in TPM or Lean Manufacturing, Finance and Accounting, Project Management, Human Relations, Savvy Communications, and Statistics/Logical Problem Solving.
Solid working knowledge of the following business enterprises: HSE/Quality regulatory compliance, Processing/Packaging/Warehouse Operations, Maintenance and Engineering, Ingredient and Package material Procurement, Production Planning & Deployment, Sales and Marketing, Research and Development, and Consumer Response, Excellent communication, facilitation and influence skills.
Experience developing/coaching hourly and supervisory staff preferred.
Ability to work multiple shifts as needed
