About this job
The main objective of this role is to deliver high quality consistent packaging graphics aligned to a strategic design vision in support of domestic and global beverage and snack initiatives. Perform a critical role in directing and supporting a wide range of stakeholders, providing functional expertise and education through the graphic packaging development process to meet time sensitive key milestones.
Manage the graphic development and execution of product packaging, point of sale and visual identity system assets. Evolve design concepts into actionable pre-production files for commercialization. Maintain design intent while establishing consistent packaging graphics and adhering to key compliance requirements and deliverables. Collaborating with design leads, marketing, innovation and external agencies.
Leverage knowledge of the entire graphic packaging development process to lead the execution of packaging graphics across domestic and global platforms. Deliver packaging, visual identity systems, point of sale, food service, fleet graphics, and signage assets, while meeting critical time bound goals.
Communicate design concept and layout direction to in house studio
Balance competing priorities, directing the pre-production development and extrapolation of packaging materials across various brands, structures and substrates...
Leads concept art review meetings with functional support staff. Facilitates discussion to obtaining clarity and team alignment around the scope of project; deliverables, timing, etc...
Leads critical alignments meetings across design leads, brand, innovation, legal, scientific and regulatory, consumer relations, data management, and graphic commercialization, to provide project visibility, obtain critical information and obtain project approvals.
Develop, communicate and adhere to actionable timelines, to all key stakeholders.
Provides functional expertise, in all federally mandated nutritional packaging information requirements, and PepsiCo mandated labeling directives.
Manage the execution of packaging comps by internal and external vendors
Source product materials; closures, bottles, cans, etc.
Performance measurement:
Leverage functional expertise by understanding the broad scope of work/initiatives and various stages of development across each initiative type and prioritize into actionable workflows, to meet critical milestones and in market dates.
Drive development of all design deliverables beyond just packaging assets; renders, photography color correction/retouching, and e-commerce needs.
Anticipate needs before they arise; recognizes outages within the development process, demonstrate the ability to resolve tough issues, taking on significant time sensitive challenges and utilize critical thinking to provide solutions.
Proactively make the connections required to obtain critical information across a wide range of disciplines
Facilitate the alignment of key decision makers required in the development processes to meet critical timelines
Qualifications:
5 -7 years experience in graphics packaging development, project management and print production field.
Strong understanding of graphic packaging development workflow, fundamental pre-production process and associated timing.
Experienced in employing critical thinking, providing actionable solutions.
Ability to retain diverse details and minutia that comes with rounds of reviews and revisions, while managing/navigating a broad scope of multiple projects at any given time; (concept development, packaging extrapolation, rendering, physical comp development, food service needs, equipment graphics, signage, etc.)
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; can communicate persuasively to win support across wide range of internal and external partners, minimizes/removes barriers that get in the way of achieving results while driving alignment.
Detail oriented, highly organized, ability to manage the large quantity of information across various
Experience in balancing competing priorities without losing momentum
Knowledge of FDA nutritional compliance labeling standards.
