We also recognize that situations happen that are beyond young people's control or ability to effectively handle. Our programs at North Star work with the family and the community to help facilitate optimal growth and nurturing throughout times of childhood adversity. We are looking for an LPN to join our established team. The LPN would be responsible for the following: 1. Administers patient medications prescribed by physician, ensuring medications are distributed correctly and in a timely manner. 2. Assists the dietary staff in identifying patients on special diets and assuring patients compliance with dietary orders. 3. Carries out general nursing duties to include documentation review, assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges. 4. Participates in treatment planning and helps identify patients problems, needs, and strengths participates in implementing treatment plans by monitoring patients progress, communicating information regarding patients behavior to other members of the treatment team, maintains communication with patient, family members, and referral sources in patients interest. 5. Co-facilitates therapeutic group activities and ensures that patients regularly attend and typically participate in program activities. 6. Ensures documentation is detailed, concise, clear, and completed in a timely manner. 7. Maintains a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment. 8. Attends mandatory nurse meetings. 9. Obtains vital signs and reports finding to registered nurse. 10. Performs chart audits and chart reviews. 11. Observe for, and document changes in patients appearance, behavior and ability to work toward treatment plan goals. 12. Communicate changes in patients condition to the Registered Nurse. 13. Teach communication, interpersonal and social skills as well as the basic principles of physical health to the patient and significant others, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. 14. Performs other duties as assigned.

This position requires a valid state of Alaska LPN License.
