JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Director of Space Planning and Interior Design, creates and manages visual solutions for sign system design, way finding and other media graphic solutions for Emory University in collaboration with Emory Marketing and other University shareholders. Works in collaboration with design firms and/or owners/end-users, architects, landscape designers, lighting designers, and/or fountain designers to solve challenging opportunities for branding and signage. Designs and implements both interior and exterior signage systems and displays by interpreting and upholding the university identity system. Responsible for development of exterior signage; establishing and managing, way finding systems; as well as donor-related and other forms of displays. Works with vendors to obtain quotations, submits orders, approves product samples, provides artwork, and supervises installation. Interacts with the Emory community and works with Project and Program manager to establish graphics budgets. Serves on various campus committees and commissions, as well as participates in the development and implementation of strategic plans for growth and improvements to campus. Produces project updates and status reports for management. Will be required to work independently with minimal supervision. Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in graphic design, Industrial Design or a related field and five years of experience in architectural graphics and sign system programs or related field, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have proven ability in concept development, layout composition, color theory and typography. Must be proficient in Photoshop, PageMaker, InDesign. Excel, Autocad, and CAD modeling software and have advanced knowledge of InDesign and Illustrator. Experience in environmental design, logo display and print design a plus. A valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record (Emory standards) may be required.
