Arbour Hospital , a 118 bed (106 Adult/12 Adolescent) private psychiatric facility located in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood the hospital also manages an 18 bed satellite adult psychiatric unit in Quincy. Arbour Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the MA Department of Mental Health.
Arbour Hospital in Boston's Jamaica Plain area is seeking a Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager . The Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for work on the units and is for staffing, patient flow, and day to day clinical operations in addition to continued management functions including but not limited to, hiring functions, mentoring staff and counseling actions a role that combines leadership and clinical patient care.
This is a full-time, day/evening rotation, every other weekend required. Hours are - Day: 7am-3:30pm Eve: 3pm-11:30pm
Main responsibilities:
Teamwork/Leadership
laquo Ensures the assignment sheet is completed
laquo Collaboration with the Nurse Manager, directly supervises all nursing and technical personnel
laquo Directs, mentors, and supports all level of staff
laquo Participates in the development of performance improvement and patient safety initiatives
laquo Demonstrates positive attitude and service ethic
laquo Manages successfully conflict and problem solving
laquo Collaborates with physicians, social work and all other interdisciplinary staff
Communication
laquo Keeps the NM and supervisor (in NM absence ) informed regarding critical incidents, patient changes, and overall unit operations
laquo Provides feedback as needed to team members
Clinical Aspects
laquo Ensures the group schedule is operating and tailored to meet the needs of the patients on the unit
laquo Ensures all documentation is completed
laquo Conducts rounds at the beginning and end of the shift
The following are the job requirements for the Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager position:
BSN from accredited school of nursing required
Minimum 1-3 years of professional psychiatric or related nursing experience
Current state MA license. Current CPR certificate
Knowledge of nursing practice principles and techniques, occupational health and safety hazards and standards, and health care laws and regulations.
Ability to exercise high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision making.
Ability to demonstrate positive attitude and service ethic
Ability to successfully manage conflict
Willing to offer assistance without being asked
Strong Leadership skills: Ability to delegate and provide feedback
Physica l/Mental Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to sit, twist, bend and stand for long periods.
