Dozer Operator - Full-time / Part-time

Summary

Responsible for operating heavy duty machines equipped with scrapers or blades to spread earth, grade terrain, or move dirt and rock.

Responsibility:

• Use bulldozers, backhoes, and tractors for moving large amounts of dirt.
• Attach different types of blades or attachments depending on job.
• Grease, oil and calibrate machinery.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
• Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required
• Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
• Advise the Public Works Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs
• Participate in routine maintenance
• Practice workplace safety
• Maintain inventory of equipment

Qualifications:

• Must be well organized and self-motivated with attention to detail.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office and basic take off and estimating software.
• Ideally having worked in the civil construction industry is a benefit for this position.
• Ability to work autonomously and promote a cohesive working environment between both internal project teams, associated engineers, and subcontractors will be critical to your success.
