We are seeking Registered Nurses who are:
Experienced RNs who are interested in the residency training program to learn and work in a different specialty unit
New graduate RNs seeking a residency training program
Position Summary:
The Nursing Institute Transition into Practice Program offered by Providence Health & Services Southern California Region is committed to developing our people as a strategic priority in order to ensure we provide the highest quality care to those we serve.
Providence Health & Services Southern California Region Registered Nurse professional development program is designed to support either the Nurse Resident: newly licensed (new graduate) progression from education to practice as they transition to their first professional nursing role and or the experienced nurse (Nurse Fellow) transitioning into a new practice specialty.
Newly graduated RN graduated within 18 months and less than 6 months of experience.
Nurse Fellow experienced nurse with more than 6 months of experience in same practice setting.
The California Regional Residency program will offered throughout our California hospitals with training offered in the following areas: Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Oncology, Critical Care, Step Down, Labor & Delivery, Post Partum, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric ICU, Float Pool, Transitional Care, Sub-Acute, Behavioral Health, Operating Room, Recovery Room, GI/Endoscopy Lab and Emergency Department. The bulk of the positions will be in Medical Surgical and Telemetry with limited or no positions in the other areas . Not all of our medical centers will have available positions in all of the specialty areas. Shift will be predominantly night shifts.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master's degree in Nursing or BSN in progress
A clinical rotation at a Providence Health & Services facility
