POSITION SUMMARY

Job Description: Oversees the management and maintenance of the instrument calibration program including calibration of all gages and measuring devices for production.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Troubleshoots plant power distribution systems (both 4160 VAC and 480 VAC).

2. Troubleshoots plant motor starters (both 4160 VAC and 480 VAC).

3. Maintains strong knowledge of NEC, Nestle TM 31.505 and local codes.

4. Troubleshoots motor control systems: e.g. AC fixed speed, AC variable frequency, and DC variable speed.

5. Maintain knowledge of all plant operational systems to aid in troubleshooting. This includes all production equipment and systems, high-rise crane systems, all facility equipment, etc. Knowledge of areas other than electrical is required: e.g. mechanical, hydraulic, sequence of operations, etc.

6. Troubleshoots PLC systems. Makes minor and advanced software changes as directed. Uses industrial terminals and laptop computers.

7. Troubleshoots all aspects of process control loops, both electronic and pneumatic: e.g. temperature, pressure, and vacuum, etc.

8. Maintains knowledge of test and calibration equipment: e.g. megger, Digital MultiMeter, oscilloscope, amprobe, transistor tester, etc.

9. Maintains understanding of engineering drawings. Documents and updates prints.

10. Maintains proficiency in digital and analog electronics, logic circuits, triac power controls, etc.

11. Maintains accurate, precise records where required. This includes calibration records as required by Nestle TM 31.505 equipment logs, communication logs, P.M. sheets, job orders, etc.

12. Models the Springville Compass in all work-related activities.

13. Management and maintenance of the instrument calibration program.

14. Creation and maintenance of the measuring loop inventory.

15. Creation, update, and safekeeping of instrument calibration historical records and certificates.

16. Compliance of Calibration Program Quality Requirements.

17. Planning, scheduling, and performing instrument calibrations.

18. Define the Calibration Program Quality Requirements together with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Safety.

19. Safeguarding of test and reference instruments.

20. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
