The Cardiovascular Technologist assists physicians in Cardiac Catheterization and Vascular/ Radiology Special procedures. The Cardiovascular Technologist provides a safe patient care environment that aids in diagnosis and care of patients experiencing cardiac pathologies; maintains and operates the physiological systems, assists physicians and performs unit based activities which contribute to a positive and professional work environment. Essential information is shared through documentation and verbal communication Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiation Services with current or pending registration or
- Graduate of an accredited institution of Radiology Technology and registered with ARRT or
- Graduate of an accredited institution of Respiratory Therapy and a RRT or
- Completion of an OR Surgical Tech training program or equivalent or
- Eligible for Certification in Invasive Cardiology with RCIS
- Basic Dysrhytmia Course obtained by the end of the introductory period
Experience:
- Previous cardiovascular diagnostic testing experience preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current ARRT, RCIS or RRT required
- Current BLS Certification required
- ACLS Certification required within 2 months from hire date
