Production Team Lead

Team Leader over roughly 10-15 direct reports consisting of production operators (50% - 70% being temp-perm associates)

90% of their job will be spent on the floor working with operators to ensure production goals are met within the quality standards of each individual part. The beginning of their shift will entail a quick 5-10 minute meeting with all associates going over any safety, quality or production initiatives set forth by the plant or any changes from the previous shift. Team Leads will then allocate labor or "staff" their lines with their associates. This will require them to eventually in due time get to know strengths and weaknesses of the associates in order to properly put them on a machine or line to achieve production goals.

Team Leads will then be overseeing operatros, they will be the first call when an issue arises. their responsibilities will then be shifted to work with that operator and apply root cause techniques to determine the why behind whatever issue. Their ability to urgently address the situation and determine a solution to fix it is a crucial component to being successful at the job. Their ability to have some mechanical aptitude to minimize escalating minor mechanical changes (ie. greasing of fittings to keep machine running properly) to maintenance will also assist in their ability to properly run their shift.

If an operator consistently achieves lower production numbers than what is expected they are required to work directly with the operator to sample their functions on the machine to see any areas of imporvement to assist them in achieving the production goals.

Each hour they will be gathering each lines data regarding output and inputting that data into an excel spreadsheet.

Team Leads will assist Production supervisors in evaluations and some circumstantial write ups or disciplinary actions.
