Aerotek Scientific is hiring for an Immunology/R&D Scientist. Below are the job description and qualifications.
Job Description:
Develop new Immunology/Allergy/Infectious Disease-related assays for use in the clinical diagnostic laboratory, reporting directly to the Manager of Immunology R&D and senior research leadership.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop new project ideas by staying on top of established and emerging research in the field.
- Act as the internal subject matter expert in fields of study.
- Work with the Director of R&D and other leadership to plan/prioritize new and on-going projects.
- Ensure that resources are available for planned projects.
- Troubleshoot delays in research studies.
- Analyze and/or review results of research studies.
- Summarize and communicate important research study results to Director of R&D and/or other leadership.
- Perform validations of new clinical diagnostic assays.
- Work with technology transfer group to transfer assays into routine and to troubleshoot assays already in routine.
- Attend scientific conferences and/or training sessions.
- Maintain safe laboratory environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree (M.S./Ph.D., preferred) in a Biomedical Science-related field of study.
- a minimum of 8 years of experience in immunology and/or infectious disease research (5 years with M.S. or 3 years with Ph.D.)
- Individuals with work experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory will be given particular consideration.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of laboratory and technical operations and terminology.
- Excellent management and leadership skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ph D in Immunology is preferred.
