Purpose:

This position is responsible for providing support to franchisees to provide direction and recommendations related to salon technology hardware decisions. This position will be involved in creating and maintaining documentation, diagrams and reports related to salon technology, managing numerous technical details, communicating with vendors, supporting the Great Clips app and participating in testing and bug tracking of point of sale software solutions.

Key Result Areas:

  1. Acts as a salon technology resource for franchisees, providing support to franchisees who are opening new salons or need assistance with existing salon technology; consults with franchisees regarding salon hardware issues and provides information to help them make smart hardware decisions that align with the direction of future salon technology plans.
  2. Develops and maintains the salon technology SharePoint site, diagrams, documents, task lists, test and launch plans.  Creates instructional support guides and assists with other content and communications related to salon technology, salon hardware and software to ensure information is current and communicated timely.
  3. Tests iPad and point of sale solutions against test plans and documents results to ensure products are thoroughly tested and meet requirements prior to general release.
  4. Provides support for the Great Clips app and other salon technology systems, by reviewing and responding to user feedback, tracking trends, documenting reported issues and creating and maintaining reports for salon technology items.

Key Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledge of and skill in using application software including Apple/iOS, SharePoint, and the Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to ask questions to gather needed information, and determine an appropriate hardware recommendation.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people. 
  • Ability to understand the link between the company goals and technology direction to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical information.
  • Written communication skills, including the ability to develop written communications and materials for a variety of audiences, maintain website content and prepare technical documentation.
  • Ability to be flexible, such as the ability to work on multiple tasks, handle interruptions, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Verbal communication skills to initiate professional and effective contact with salons, franchisees, corporate staff, and vendors.
  • Organizational skills, such as the ability to categorize, sort and use information and or materials in a meaningful, efficient and logical manner.
  • Ability to work independently and give attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through, such as the ability to take appropriate action(s) with limited direction.

Desired Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or related field, and 3-5 years’ experience in technology support, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
