We are currently expanding our injection molding operations and we now have 2 Focus Factories: Containers and Syringes. This Electro-Mechanical Technician position in Syringes requires advanced experience in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, IMM processing and pneumatic troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades and preventative maintenance to injection molding machines and related production equipment. This role will also provide technical training to junior technicians. Responsibilities include root cause analysis of machinery failures and proactive resolution of problems.

Perform Tool set-up, start-up, shut-downs, maintenance repairs and PMs on injection molding machines.

Responsible for mold set-ups, statistical process control, robotics, stack molding, material handling, chillers, automation and process troubleshooting of various types of thermoplastic injection molds, machines and resins to ensure efficient production of quality products.

Troubleshoot and repair all electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems in the molding department.

Works with Engineering to qualify and implement new and alternative plastic materials and colorants.

Participate in set up reduction improvements of specific injection molding presses, molds and auxiliary equipment through Kaizen improvement activities.

Prior experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix Processors and RSLogix 5000. Understanding of control system design and network communication interfaces is desired.

Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

Develop, write and implement all aspects of electrical control systems used for all aspects of injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment and robotic systems.

Fault analysis of PLC based systems with control logic alteration if required.

Understands principals of a Color Measurement system and continually monitors Color data.

Supports and works with engineering on new mold designs, including design reviews.

Documents and maintains all relevant process data to ensure quality and dimensional stability of

parts throughout production.

Install auxiliary equipment (robotics, conveyors, part chutes, etc.) as needed to complete proper setup.

Monitors production relevant data such as part weight, cycle time, scrap rate, etc. and informs engineering and quality if there are discrepancies.

Ensure that all maintenance records and related paperwork are filled appropriately and kept in compliance with FDA & ISO standards.

Qualifications

Do you have this experience and these skills and qualifications?

5 or more years of experience repairing auxiliary equipment and performing process troubleshooting; experience repairing injection molding presses preferred, specifically with Nessei, Toshiba, Van Dorn, Mitsubishi and/or Husky machines. Electrical/PLC background is required.

Must be able to work independently from written or verbal instructions and posses basic computer skills.

Ability to operate forklift, overhead hoist, and any other equipment necessary to perform duties.

Extensive knowledge of measuring equipment and the ability to read blueprints, hydraulic and electrical schematics are also required

Mold process and set-up -- RJG -- scientific injection molding

Do you have this education?

High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in engineering or another technical field preferred.
