Chemical Mixer/Operator - Full-time / Part-time

Hours: 1st shift 8AM 5PM

DUTIES:
-Tends equipment that mixes chemicals for use in bleaching and cleaning.
-Uses forklift to transfer chemicals from parts of the facility to tanks.
-Weighs or measures quantities of ingredients such as; peroxide, starches, and detergents, following formula, and pours them into mixing tank.
-Turns valves to admit water into tank up to mark on tank wall.
-Starts mixer and allows solution to mix for specified period of time.
-Keep records of test results, solutions mixed, and chemicals used in each batch for production and inventory purposes.
-Turns valve to transfer solution from mixing tank to storage tank.
-May be designated according to solution mixed as Acid-Bath Mixer; Ammonia-Solution Preparer; Soap Mixer; Waterproofing Mixer.
-PAYING ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS KEY

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Lifting up to 30 lbs. Constantly; 50 pounds frequently; and 100 pounds occasionally
-Repetitive pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, squatting, bending
-Continuous standing and/or walking
-Ability to wear required PPE on regular basis
-Ability to work in the presence of chemicals and/or cleaning supplies
-Ability to work in extreme environments including dust, cold, heat, and inclement weather

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory including arriving at the time scheduled by the supervisor daily.
