Job Summary

The Student Administrative Assistant is a team member in the ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research. The Summer Program provides annual summer training opportunities (June -- August) in quantitative methods to a diverse, multidisciplinary, and international constituency of more than 1,000 graduate students, faculty, and researchers in the social and behavioral sciences. The Summer Program's participants come from more than 200 different institutions in about 35 different countries. The Summer Program holds two 4-week sessions on the main campus of the University of Michigan during the summer term. In addition, it holds fifty 3- to 5-day workshops on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor and at numerous locations across the United States. The Summer Program's instructional staff is composed of more than 90 prominent social and behavioral scientists representing a variety of disciplines and different academic institutions.

Responsibilities* Program Administration

Respond to general inquiries about the Summer Program, with assistance Assist with participant registration, under supervision Assist with the employment paperwork for temporary staff Assist with participant applications to specialized workshops Coordinate applications to the Program's scholarships Schedule and prepare teaching evaluations for the Program's instructional staff Assist with general Program administration, as directed General Support

Provide general instructional support for the 4-week workshops Provide general instructional support for the 3- to 5-day workshops Assist with electronic (email and listserv) promotional activities Assist with reconciliation of participant accounts Assist with tracking and reconciliation of Program revenue and income Assist with tracking and reconciliation of Program expenses Assist with Program hosting activities Assist with travel arrangements for Program guests/instructors Assist with general office support

Required Qualifications* Bachelor's Degree in Social or Behavioral Sciences, or related degree Intermediate to advanced competency in Microsoft Office suite and/or database querying tools

Desired Qualifications* Experience working in an academic or scientific training environment, or Knowledge of social science, behavioral science, or medical science research methodology Experience working with statistical software programs Knowledge of social media in an academic environment
