Cargill Meat Solutions is the umbrella organization of Cargill's North American beef, turkey, and food distribution businesses. Our businesses based in Wichita, Kansas, provide wholesome, high quality, nutritious and flavorful products to customers ranging from foodservice operators and grocery stores, to food manufacturers and export markets. Cargill Value Added Protein is a leading marketer of high value, further-processed egg products, ground beef, and poultry products in the US and Canada. CVAP has twelve operating facilities in Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, California, Texas, Wisconsin, and Ontario and Alberta, Canada, Cargill Value Added Protein customers include premier quick-service restaurant chains as well as food manufacturers. We are dedicated to providing our customers with innovative and distinctive solutions, including liquid eggs, egg patties, French Toast, hamburger patties, and further processed chicken.
General Production has an important role to play in the daily operations of our facility. There are a variety of roles and responsibilities within this title. The types of roles available are handling frozen blocks of meat, inspecting fresh meat, packing meat into boxes, verifying quality and accuracy of products, and janitorial duties, all while making safety and food safety the number one priorities.
Principal Accountabilities
Perform repetitive and standardized assembly or packaging operations. Examples may include but are not limited to:
Lifting 60 pound frozen blocks of meat into a grinder
Filling hoppers to correct amounts and monitoring materials
Checking machines on regular intervals
Packing finished products into boxes and bags
Labeling, weighing and verifying correct materials
Stacking 10 -- 40 pound boxes
Ensuring food safety and quality
Cleanliness and housekeeping
Maintaining a safe working environment
Education, Experience, Skills
No educational requirements
Required Qualifications
Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Must be 18 years or older
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Cargill experience
Packing or grinding experience
Meat production experience
Production experience
Work history in the last 12 months
