Insurance Customer Service Representative

Do you have a background in customer service? We are seeking organized and thorough individuals to be an Insurance Customer Service Representative:
  • This position's daily operations, which include but will not limited to: customer service, answering calls, data entry, marketing, cash handling, and contributing to the success of our Insurance Agency. Our main goal is to give exceptional customer service and support to all clients, treating them with dignity and courtesy at all times while we handle & protect their assets. Must speak and write both English and Spanish.


Below is a sample outline showing important tasks, duties, and responsibilities that must be performed upon being fully trained:
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills a must
  • Discuss with customers on telephone and provide information on the company’s products and services.
  • Record in agency system clients with details of inquiries or complaints and action steps that were taken.
  • Understand the company’s US Customs Bonds and OTI bonds so that you will be able to tell whether/how a bond covers a type of loss or not.
  • Call up customers to ensure that they are satisfied &/or to ensure that the appropriate changes were made to resolve customers problems if that is the case.
  • Take S.O.S calls from clients that have issues with the web based bonds with our various surety’s who need assistance with their vehicles and mobilizing help for such clients.
  • Communicate changes or adjustment in bonds/policies to clients.
  • Send newsletters, mails, and other forms of correspondences to customers.
  • Assist in soliciting sales of new products and policies.
  • Liaise with other departments and provide support to them.
  • Assist clients in filling of bonds &/or documents and contact them whenever any error is discovered, or when it needs to be corrected.
  • Offer information about the bonds &/or price quotes to prospective customers.
  • Receive visiting customers and provide them with necessary assistance.
  • Manage and protect the reputation of the company.
  • Maintain strong clientele relationship with customers
  • Post Daily deposits


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
  • Excellent people skills, friendly and warm personality
  • Must have 4-40 License
  • Calm, confident and not easily flustered or frustrated by challenges
  • Dependable and punctual, and shows initiative
  • Analytical, problem solving and project management skills
  • Organizational skills, business acumen and industry knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task and complete tasks within scheduled times by effective use of time management techniques
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly and implement them into daily activities; receptive to change and continuous improvement
  • Excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft products; as well as insurance agency software products.
