On behalf of our client, Social, Scientific Systems and Headway Workforce Solutions, we are currently seeking Recontact Specialists for the (EPR), a research study sponsored by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). s3ind

The EPR is a registry established to collect and store DNA samples from 20,000 participants, and to serve as a resource for scientists investigating genotype-driven translational research of chronic conditions. To learn more about the study visit http://headwayinresearch.com/studies/#eps

Shift Needed:
  • M-F 5pm-10pm & (Sat 10am-4pm or Sun 1pm-6pm) At least one weekend day/week
  • M-F 5:30pm-10pm & (Sat 10am-4pm or Sun 1pm-6pm) At least one weekend day/week
  • M-F 6pm-10pm & (Sat 10am-4pm or Sun 1pm-6pm) At least one weekend day/week


The position will run from May 19 - July 1, 2016.

Position Summary

Recontact Specialists will be responsible for conducting short telephone inquiries with participants in the Environmental Polymorphisms Registry. The purpose of these calls will be to ensure that participant contact information is correct and up to date, and that questions a participant may have about the study are answered. In addition, Specialists will inform participants of recent changes to the study protocol and ask the participant to agree to these changes.

Recontact Specialists must demonstrate the ability to speak clearly, read scripts verbatim, and to accurately enter information, such as mailing addresses and telephone numbers, into an online database. It is imperative that specialists consistently employ a pleasant, engaging telephone voice, as well as excellent call etiquette and interpersonal skills.

Job Duties
  • Enter contact and demographic information into an online database, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Speak to a large number of EPR participants per shift, while establishing and maintaining a strong rapport with these participants.
  • Have the ability and aptitude to understand and consistently apply project guidelines and meet project metrics for telephone interviewing quality and timelines.
  • Administer scripted informed consent conversations with EPR participants.
  • Be present for all assigned shifts, arrive to work on time, and demonstrate professional behavior at all times.


Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills, Strong customer service skills, with an ability to consistently maintain an upbeat and friendly tone of voice throughout all calls.
  • Receptive and open to training and learning on the job.
  • Existing computer skills, general Internet and electronic communications. Capacity to learn new software.


Preferred Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required, additional coursework in social or medical sciences preferred.
  • Call Center experience required, preferably outbound calling.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English candidates encouraged to apply.
