Purpose
Convenience store merchandising/sales, housekeeping and light maintenance
Assist Manager and Assistant Manager in controlling store operations and inventory
Essential Functions
Operation of the following equipment:
Store merchandising:
General in-store housekeeping:
General exterior housekeeping and maintenance:
Additional light maintenance:
Comply with company policies and procedures, including procedures, among others, relating to possible robbery and the safe and proper handling of petroleum products (which are combustible and flammable).
Perform, among others, the following bookkeeping procedures: shift walk and shift close
Payment of certain direct store delivery accounts through the issuance of money orders
Check in vendors, deliveries and grocery orders
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Prerequisites, Qualifications, and Requirements
Successful completion of a drug test and criminal background check
Basic reading, writing and math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Legal age to sell alcohol and tobacco products
Enforcement of company policy on age restricted products
Capable of working indoors, outdoors and walk-in coolers
Physical Abilities Required For Performance Of Essential Function
Bending, kneeling, reaching (including overhead) and stooping while performing maintenance and housekeeping including the following circumstances, among others:
Lifting (light to heavy loads). Specifically, the sales associate may lift merchandise that may weigh up to 50 lbs.
Adequate strength, balance, and coordination to perform essential functions
Endurance of extreme temperature changes experienced either while cleaning outside areas and/or while working in the walk-in coolers
Standing for extended periods, possibly several consecutive hours
Attitude and Co-Employee Relationships
Employee attitude and relationships with co-employees are critical and must be demonstrated by, ensuring the following behavior of assigned employees:
Convenience store merchandising/sales, housekeeping and light maintenance
Assist Manager and Assistant Manager in controlling store operations and inventory
Essential Functions
Operation of the following equipment:
- Cash register, money order machine, electronic lottery, Tac safes, credit card machines, gasoline console, and emergency gasoline shutoff valve
Store merchandising:
- Stock, price, block and front shelves, placement of window banners, in-store P.O.S., and insure that all products are in date
General in-store housekeeping:
- Stock, clean, mop and wax (using strong chemical cleaning compounds), dust, sweep and organize the restrooms, floors, gondolas (shelves), racks, cooler (walk-in and upright), windows fountain areas, and storage rooms. Cleaning of shelves, gondolas and racks will sometimes include dismantling and relocating.
General exterior housekeeping and maintenance:
- Clean gasoline pumps, clean windshields, maintenance of gasoline pumps, stock supplies, empty trash cans, maintain landscape free of liter, maintain driveway clean and free of slick oil spots and apply Oil Dry
Additional light maintenance:
- Change light bulbs, place towels in dispensers, change tapes in registers and printout tapes, change gasoline stack sign prices (may involve ladder climbing), paint fuel drops, change gasoline hoses and nozzles and stick gasoline tanks.
Comply with company policies and procedures, including procedures, among others, relating to possible robbery and the safe and proper handling of petroleum products (which are combustible and flammable).
Perform, among others, the following bookkeeping procedures: shift walk and shift close
Payment of certain direct store delivery accounts through the issuance of money orders
Check in vendors, deliveries and grocery orders
- Performance of additional or different functions to those described above at the discretion of the manager or assistant manager

Physical Abilities Required For Performance Of Essential Function
Bending, kneeling, reaching (including overhead) and stooping while performing maintenance and housekeeping including the following circumstances, among others:
- Mopping the restrooms, cleaning toilet bowls, installing restrooms towels, wiping down sinks and washing windows (this may require the climbing of a ladder and/or extensive reaching)
- Stocking floor gondolas and the walk-in coolers. These racks may be up to 6 feet high.
Lifting (light to heavy loads). Specifically, the sales associate may lift merchandise that may weigh up to 50 lbs.
Adequate strength, balance, and coordination to perform essential functions
Endurance of extreme temperature changes experienced either while cleaning outside areas and/or while working in the walk-in coolers
Standing for extended periods, possibly several consecutive hours
