SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the development, maintenance, enhancement, and implementation of software applications to support business objectives. The Oracle programmer analyst will be relied upon to participate in all phases of the application development lifecycle; including support for existing custom applications, requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and end user acclimation of new applications.

The Oracle programmer analyst will be a direct report to the Information Systems Manager and join a team of talented software development professionals. The use of software applications to automate business processes, create access to data, and bring value through efficiency is the exciting opportunity facing this team on a daily basis.

 

Responsibilities:

 

* Routinely interacts with employees across the enterprise in an effort to understand their needs, and relentlessly strives to provide solutions to opportunities for improvement.

* Interfaces with business leaders to collect process improvement specifications, utilizes consistent documentation methods to collect requirements, design, and test applications.

* Recommends technical design of applications, provides functional level table designs for DBA.

* Responsible for application and data troubleshooting across the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

* Responsible for maintenance activities on existing applications including support calls from the user community.

* Develops detailed knowledge of manufacturing operations and business processes and utilizes that knowledge to develop effective applications that bring value to the business through process automation and reengineering.

* Develops applications across all functional areas of the business utilizing the standard technology suite.

* Creates and executes test scripts for complex software projects.

* Develops and maintains documentation identified in department policies.

* Works effectively on individual assignments and participates in team assignments in the US and Mexico.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Required skills

* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

* Above average ability to translate business goals into system capabilities

* Excellent skill using development tools with RDBMS and Fusion middleware technology

* Able to troubleshoot and do tuning on Oracle RDBMS and Fusion Middleware development tools

* Above average experience developing forms and reports 10g, 11g, 12c, and Server side PLSQL objects, stored procedures and triggers

* Able to communicate technical issues with users and IT personnel

* Experience with Configuration Management and tools such as Microsoft Visual Source Safe

* Knowledge of SDLC methodology, standards, and best practices for quality control

* Knowledge of object oriented concepts, experience developing applications using an OO language

* Must have experience with multi-tier architectures, and designing graphical user interfaces

* Knowledge of Windows 7

* Knowledge of system modeling tools

* Work efficiently to meet deadlines and work well under pressure

* Ability to prioritize activities and work under minimal supervision

* Strong problem solving and organizational skills

* Must be able to work well in team environment to achieve the goals of the department

 

 

Education:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

* 8-10 years’ experience as a programmer analyst

* 5 years’ minimum experience as a programmer in a manufacturing environment

* Experience with ERP systems highly desirable
