The IT Account Director will function as a critical lifeline between the cross functional Optum organization and our clients as it relates to technology enabled capabilities and services. This role is accountable for providing leadership that results in client satisfaction and quality service delivery by serving as a single point of contact for the account management team for any IT related direction, issues, requirements, and communications. In this role, you will partner with the sales executive and Optum product, Operations, and IT to ensure that business needs are met while optimizing cost and quality. You will be expected to facilitate the discovery, development, collaboration and communication of forward looking plans and issue resolution.Â
Core responsibilities will include:
Ensuring end-to-end IT enablement of solutions
Serving as a trusted advisor to the account team and the client
Proactively facilitating the coordination of varied experts to leverage and integrate technology solutions that deliver the client member experience
Operating as a client-focused advocate and IT partner to the account team and the client
Ensuring that both Voice of the Client and Voice to the Client are heard and understood
Providing guidance, leadership, clarity, visibility and communication regarding IT capabilities and issue resolution
Engaging in proactive management of client expectations and end to end solution requirements
Providing timely executive level client facing communications
Creating awareness (internally and externally) regarding changes that impact delivery to the client
Driving ongoing improvement in NPS scores for the organization
Providing responsive issue resolution services as needed

Requirements
10 + years of experience in the technology profession
5 + years of experience in a role that was directly client-facing (with either internal or external clients)
5 + years of experience working with business leaders to ensure high quality service delivery
5 + years of proven experience communicating status and progress to clients and internal stakeholders
5 + years of experience serving as an escalation point on IT related issues
Demonstrated analytical abilities with experience using structured analytical techniques
Proven multi-faceted systems thinking that incorporates consideration of functional, technical, and operational components
Tenacity to get quality results and improve them over time in a matrixed organization
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Proven ability to effectively influence others (including executives)
Undergraduate degree in computer or business related field, or equivalent experience
Assets:
Experience in the healthcare industry
Previous experience serving as a Business Analyst
Prior UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealthcare and/or Optum experience
Knowledge of care management and/or wellness as they relate to the employer market
MS or MBA
