Mechanical Engineer - Full-time / Part-time

Sales Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field sales force. Working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor; Sales Engineers are responsible for actively reviewing customer designs for costing and quoting. They will also support customer efforts to design for manufacturability and quality. The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate our capability and positioning to customers with diverse back grounds.

Job Duties:
1. Prepares cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans, solid models, and related customer documents; if needed provides cost estimates in alternate formats to meet customer requirements
2. Consults with engineers, and other professional and technical personnel to define, select, or develop manufacturing processes to meet customer needs.
3. Coordinates internal efforts to deliver products that meet customer requirements and expectations for quality and on-time delivery
4. Makes quality and production concerns easily understood both internally and with the customer
5. Sources custom fabrication, finishing or materials for new products.

Qualifications:
1. Must have working knowledge of the Windows operating system and be able to use Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
2. Must have a basic understanding of manufacturing
3. 2 year Engineering/ technical degree or equivalent experience in a design and costing field.
4. Must have good written and oral communication skills
5. Ability to travel
6. Must be Self-motivated and willing to learn
7. Must be able to work outside the box from time to time
Preferred:
1. Knowledge of CAD and/or Solid works
2. Understanding of QD&T and drafting standards
3. Metal manufacturing and finishing experience is a plus
