Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

- Develop Weld and Assembly Fixture Designs to produce protective operator stations (cabs) for off highway equipment

 

- Design and develop off-highway equipment cab environments, leveraging user-centric insight to produce safe and productive operator experiences.  Design responsibilities include existing product modification and 'clean-sheet' design efforts including design and integration of cab roll-over and falling object protection structures, ergonomic layout of operator station, lines of sight evaluation, sound abatement, operator positioning, HVAC system design, wire harness integration, glass design, metallic and non-metallic component design and physical testing of safety structures.

 

-Collaboration with customers and suppliers to define and develop 'winning design' elements

 

-Support new product development concepting and scoping of new applications

 

- Develop designs through a basic understanding of relevant manufacturing processes and WIEC manufacturing capabilities

 

- Execute a basic understanding of GD&T and drafting practices in design implementation

 

- Provide concise and effective technical guidance and communication to customers

 

- Document all design decisions with appropriate justification in design files

 

- Participate in design reviews and support justification for design decisions

 

- Support root cause analysis activities

 

- Develop design alternatives for internal review and recommendations to customers
