Essential Job Functions:

Provides second-line technical troubleshooting supporting UNIX and Linux servers. Provides higher level surveillance and Incident Management support for Time Warner Cable as a member of a team/desk within Time Warner’s Network Operation Center



Job Requirements:

Monday through Friday position with a 24/7 on-call rotation.Troubleshoot, test, and maintain the TWC UNIX and Linux servers supporting the IP telephony and OSS architecture. Coordinate VOIP switching activities with the corporate office, cable divisions, and related departments (NOC, Customer Care, etc.).Execute TWC VoIP operations standards to ensure a consistent quality of support.Ensure VOIP functionality in production environment for residential market. Monitors local switching systems to include troubleshooting, tuning, and maintenance as well as execute proactive measures to reduce equipment outages.Resolve complex VOIP issues that involve multiple users or ones that cannot be resolved by the Division or tier 1 technicians (NOC).Escalate RFEs, bugs and other high-level break-fix issues to Engineering team and respective vendors.Responsible for configuration management to ensure sytems standard configuration and execute fault & performance management processes.Responsible for supporting upgrades of VOIP Infrastructure componentsSupport of Division & VOIP Deployment Processes by executing and verifying acceptance plans before activationDevelop, report and mange VoIP Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)CLEC Interconnect managementVendor management of field issues and resolutionOn-call support and point of escalation services 7x24x365Facilitate training to ensure all personnel are proficient in every aspect of all operations processes. Assist in the development and documentation of training policies and procedures.The candidate will interact with a diverse group of individuals (internal and external to the organization) from the engineering, business, and vendor communities and is therefore required to possess highly developed and exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Analyze performance characteristics of optical networks supporting DOCSIS, VoIP and other multimedia servicesCreate and execute operations and maintenance procedures for optical networksAssess key areas of existing and emerging optical networking, optical component, and related test equipment technologiesCross-train with the various engineering and integration teams to develop an in-depth understanding of the technologies and architectures used within Time Warner Cable organizationProvide technical support and guidance to TWC division engineers in a positive, courteous, and professional manner to assess and resolve technical problems on all supporting equipmentProvide guidance, support, and review for designing, specifying, modeling and engineering optical transport systems. Will also provide the same for optical test equipment including alignment and calibration method
Preferred Qualifications:
Exchanges information requiring some interpretation and/or persuasion to ensure proper action. Employees must be willing and able to work rotating and/or non-standard work shifts, including evenings, overnight, holidays, weekendsThis is an on call position and candidate must be available via cell phone or pager 24x7 while on callUp to 15% travel may be required
RHCSA or equivalent experience (RHCE preferred) or equivalent or related vendor certification


Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
