Description

Fleet Mechanic II
The Fleet Mechanic II will perform scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), trailers, vans and forklifts as directed by Fleet Manager and Lead Technician. This individual also disassembles and overhauls motors, transmissions, clutches, rear ends and electrical systems.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and repair fleet equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
  2. Diagnose vehicle failures and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessary.
  3. Adhere to OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory compliance standards. Respond to service calls.
  4. Complete all necessary documents, including vehicle records.
  5. Maintain cleanliness in areas of work and tools.
  6. Maintain records of daily check list (pre-trip inspections).
  7. Pick up and deliver vehicles.
  8. Manage ordering and inventory of parts.
  9. Perform assigned duties in a safe and productive manner.
  10. Follow the direction of Fleet Supervisor/Manager and Lead Technician.
  11. Input data accurately and in a timely manner into the DPS fleet maintenance software program (SAP EAM).
  12. The training and experience that comes from the following certifications may be utilized as part of the position responsibilities

Pay Rate:$19.00/Hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday
11am-7:30pm

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum 3 year experience as a mechanic.
  • Must be able to work on all types of vehicles
  • Occasionally Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Must supply necessary tools to perform the job
  • Must be able to trouble shoot gas and diesel engines.
  • Must be able to trouble shoot electrical shorts.
  • Must have some knowledge of forklift repairs, including hydraulic systems and propane fuel systems.
  • Must have experience in air brake and ABS systems.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A CDL Required
  • Must be able to obtain a DOT state safety inspection certification.
