Sales Tax Staff Accountant - Full-time

A successful Tax Staff Accountant will have the following:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University; or one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience using Vertex software including Quantum Returns is a plus
• Must be a self-starter with an upbeat and positive attitude with the ability to multi-task
• Critical thinking and a high degree of enthusiasm with the ability to analyze large amounts of data
• Excellent organizational abilities with attention to details. Ability to meet deadlines
• Strive to achieve effective performance within the team, working for the overall success of the company

The position involves quick response to a heavy volume of email correspondence from the State, Federal and third party filing services. The Sales Tax Staff Accountant will analyze revenue from data exported from Oracle and will work cross functionally with other groups such as IT, Accounting and Legal as it relates to Regulatory Requests.

  Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

• Maintain/file CLEC licenses, Annual Reports, and 499Q and 499A requirements with federal and state agencies
• Maintain and track regulatory reporting calendar
• Assist 3rd party vendor by providing documentation and research related to data request
• Collect and organize files/maintain corporate regulatory files
• Answer notices for state and federal agencies
• Track regulatory filings; assist in managing various projects toward meeting regulatory and compliance requirements
