DISPATCH CLERK

Job Title:  Dispatch Clerk (Security Guard)

Reports to:  Shipping Supervisor

Summary:  Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates. Ensures that all people entering the premises have permission to do so.  Follows the BRC codes strictly to ensure compliance in all security functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

This is for working hours of 6 am to 2:30 pm M-F and every other Saturday

• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed.
• Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.
• Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
• Escort individuals to specified locations and provide personal protection.
• Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.
• Monitor controls that regulate building systems, such as air conditioning, furnace, or boiler and make plant engineer or maintenance supervisor aware if alarms go off for purposes of cooling systems.
• Check trailers throughout the day including trailer locks, fuel and temperatures on all storage trailers on premises.
• Keep daily logs of security issues as they arise and bring to the attention to management any security issues immediately.
• Ensure that all cars parking on lot has Colorado Premium Foods sticker
• Check out trucks after being loaded for accurate seals that match BOL ensuring they are intact prior to letting trucks leave with product.
• Search all vehicles coming and going for unauthorized items such as alcohol and product from premises.
