The Manager, RN Clinical Administration will work in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services and is responsible for assisting in the strategic development and implementation of the clinical services within Optum Medical Partners. Assists in planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical activities related to patient care to ensure the smooth flow of daily clinical operations in collaboration with providers and leadership within established standards to ensure quality patient care and compliance within state and federal regulations.  The Manager, RN Clinical Administration will demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles, practices and procedures, federal, state and payer regulations and requirements related to nursing including patient safety, infection control, and confidentiality.  Assists in overseeing the adherence to standards regarding quality assurance, risk management, utilization management, compliance and clinical outcomes.  Assists in the implementation of clinical policies and procedures, quality initiatives, and workflow standards according to OMP’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives. Identifies opportunities and implement practice initiatives that improve the patient experience. Assist in the development and implementation of clinical orientation, validation of clinical competencies, participate in managing the skills lab, ongoing education and evaluation of clinical staff. Assist in the training and implementation of clinical compliance initiatives and support of clinical compliance audits.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Participate and support OMP Care Redesign initiatives, and LEAN processes
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement solutions to clinical operational problems
Proven team-builder capable of achieving high morale in the workplace. Able to maintain professional demeanor at all times, establish cooperative working relationships and obstacles related to care delivery
Requires a self-starter with high energy who is motivated and able to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision and lead by example. Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Able to gather complex data, compile usable information, and reports
Use sound, independent judgment to manage confidential information
Able to prioritize tasks when there are competing demands
Able to complete additional projects related to the medical group
Clearly communicate requisite information to staff, professionals, and / or the general public
Local travel required, as well as possible extended travel with occasional weekend work (travel from Long Beach, CA to San Diego area
 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Current / active unrestricted CA Registered Nurse license
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or healthcare administration, business administration, or related field
American Heart Association approved Basic Life Support certification
5+ years of progressive leadership experience in a patient care environment in-patient or ambulatory clinic setting
3+ years managerial/supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior experience working with an electronic health record system 
Experience developing and implementing solutions to clinical operational problems
Computer proficiency; can type, create, edit, search web browsers, toggle between multiple screens, use Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, practice management systems, electronic health records and navigate in a Windows environment
Access to reliable transportation that will enable you to travel to client and/or patient sites within a designated area
Preferred Qualifications:

Membership and activity in a nursing leadership society
Instructor level American Heart Association approved Basic Life Support certification
