As the EOHS Manager, you will be responsible for the safety and health of plant employees, as well as the community and environment. The EOHS Manager will ensure the plant is in compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of safety and environmental issues. Ensures compliance with all government and company standards and practices and leads the plant safety programs
  • Identifies, designs and implements EOHS related projects and responsible for ensuring corrective action is taken for all EOHS issues
  • Supports facilities energy improvements, developing and implementing efforts to reduce carbon footprint
  • Serves as primary liaison for plant EOHS issues between government agencies and corporate
  • Conducts EOHS training
  • Manages plant Emergency Preparedness Program and ensures plan integrity
  • Manages all internal and external inspections and audits
  • Promotes continuous improvement within all teams by transferring knowledge that has been acquired through formal and informal training to all Hill’s employees
  • Accountable as the standard owner for EOHS processes and programs by meeting or exceeding Colgate, Hill’s and regulatory established safety standards

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial hygiene or related field
  • 5+ years of increasing EOHS responsibilities
  • 5+ years experience in a manufacturing supervisory role
  • Working knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power point and email

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified safety or industrial hygiene professional
  • 2+ years food manufacturing experience
  • Strong work ethic and a stable employment history
  • Able to clearly express ideas both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to develop alternative courses of action and make timely decisions based on logical assumptions and factual information

 

Physical Requirements

  • Bend at waist 90 degrees and flex at knees 120 degrees
  • Walk unlimited distances up to 12 hours on concrete floor
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, with possibility of climbing heights of up to 120 feet
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including hearing, eye, foot and dust protection
  • Perceive visual and audible alarms and telephones while wearing hearing protection
  • Receive and transmit information in person and by telephone communications
  • Exposure to both cold and hot work environments aligned to external temperatures as well as confined space both inside and outside the facility
  • Exposure to dry ingredients (primarily grain) producing a dusty environment (dusk mask provided)
  • Exposure to industrial chemicals used in production, equipment for testing and treatment of liquids including water
  • Computer keyboarding 
  • Type, using a computer keyboard, intermittently for up to six hours per day
